Hi there! Welcome to The Country Cook! I\u2019m Brandie Skibinski<\/a>, the recipe developer, creator and photographer behind this comfort food blog!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here on The Country Cook you will find simple recipes with easy to find ingredients. My goal is to share approachable, family friendly recipes that anyone can cook. I do my best to give you lots of tips and tricks to help your meal turn out perfect every time! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether it is my famous Butter Dip Biscuits<\/a> or a classic like Southern Fried Chicken<\/a> or even some fall-off-the-bone Grilled Ribs<\/a>, my goal is to always make you look like the star of your kitchen and have everyone begging for seconds!<\/p>\n\n\n

A LITTLE BACKGROUND ABOUT THE COUNTRY COOK<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As a kid, I loved to cook and make meals for my family. My Mom taught me what she knew and I read cookbooks like they were novels. But as I grew older and got busy with life and work, I didn\u2019t cook much at all. Then when my son was born, I was able to stay at home with him for a couple of years and I began to reacquaint myself with my kitchen and my love of cooking. I remembered all those things I loved about feeding the people I love.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also found that I enjoyed cooking and baking as a stress reliever. I often took leftovers into my co-workers who would in turn ask me for the recipes. So, I started this blog back in 2010 as a way to share those recipes with everyone instead of writing them out by hand every time. I took terrible pictures with my cheap little digital camera and wrote up recipes with very little detail. It was as basic as you could get. But with time, effort and some training, I got better and better. I learned from readers and followers on how to make my recipes better and how I could help grow this website to be what this newfound cooking community wanted and needed. And boy did it grow! Now with over 5 million views a month, The Country Cook has become a place where folks can come and find easy recipes with lots of photos, videos and simple instructions that are easy to follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m a regular home cook, like most of you, doing my best to get a good meal on the table for my family. I don\u2019t always get it right. I still make a lot of mistakes and I still burn things occasionally. I try to make all the mistakes first so that by the time the recipe gets on this site, you will know you\u2019re getting a recipe that has been thoroughly tested and foolproof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
